A film review

“All That Jazz” is one of my favourites musical movies. It was directed by Bob Fosse in 1979, he was a director, dancer and choreographer. It stars Roy Scheneider, Leland Palmer, Jessica Lange and Ann Reinking. This film is a biopic about Bob Fosse, specifically in a busy and stressful period of his life when he was working on a stage play and a movie at the same time. He was a workoholic and needed his daily dose of cigarettes, Vivaldi, Alka-Settzer, Dexedrine and sex to have energy. His girlfriend, ex-wife and daughter tried help him but it was too late for his exhausted healthy and body. The whole film happens between hospital, dances, rehearsals, and an angel of death who lives in Fosse’s imagination. “All That Jazz” won four Oscars in 1980: Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Costume Design, Film Editing and finally, best Music, Original Song Score and Its Adaptation. I recommended this film because isn´t the tipycal musical movie is funny, intense, powerful, has very beautiful choreography. I love the choreography of Fosse, he had a very personally style, you can see it in other of his films as “Cabaret” or “Chicago”. Michael Jackson was inspired by some of Fosse steps for his dances. To conclude, I want share a dream with you, when mi children is bigger, I would love to do this choreography with her, obviously is from “All that Jazz” and it´s interpreted by Fosse's girlfriend and daughter (and by my daugther and me in the future... I hope!). I invite to you to see it in this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA0sB3iJ-uY
